Hebrews was written to the Christian Jews, who were undergoing severe persecution for converting to Christianity. Fellow Jews were furious at those who had accepted Jesus as the Messiah. The pressure from persecution was causing them to want to revert to Judaism. However, the author of Hebrews wrote this Epistle to encourage them to persevere.

KEY LESSONS IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS:
- God speaks to us through His Son, who is the Word, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. (Hebrews 1:2); John 1:1 tells us that the word was with God from the beginning, and John 1:14 says the word became flesh and dwelt among us. The word which dwelt among us is referring to Jesus. Thus, we can clearly see that the Word and Jesus are the same.
- Pay attention to what we have heard about salvation in Jesus Christ, so we won’t drift away from it. (Hebrews 2:1).
- Jesus is our eternal High Priest: Hebrews 3:1-3
- Warning against unbelief: It warns us against not believing in salvation in Jesus Christ. According to Hebrews 3:12, having an unbelieving heart sinful to God because it turns you away from God.
- Believe the message of Salvation so you can enter God’s rest: (Hebrews 4:1-2) The children of Israel failed to enter God’s rest because they did not believe the word that was preached to them. The Bible says they did not mix the word of God with faith.
- Jesus the Great High Priest: Hebrews 4:14-16 says, “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are -yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (NIV).
- Jesus obtained eternal redemption for us through His Blood: “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption” Hebrews 9:12, (NIV).
- Your faith in God will be richly rewarded: Hebrew 10:35-36 says, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised” (NIV).
- We are to live by faith in God: Hebrews 10:38 says, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him” (NIV).
- What is Bible Faith? “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]”, Hebrews 11:1, AMP.
- It is impossible to please God without Faith: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 11:6, (KJV).
- Jesus is the author and the perfecter of our faith: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2, (NIV).
PRAYER IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS TO PRAY FOR YOURSELF AND FOR OTHERS:
Hebrews 13:20-21 King James Version (KJV)
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer: This is how you would pray these verses:
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant; Make me perfect in every good work to do his will while he is working in me that which is well-pleasing in his sight; Through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen

I just finished my James workbook. Thank you so much. I have been looking for a study for so long, that just asks scripture by scripture questions. I’ve already read all of these books… but there’s something about digging for answers and writing them down that helps you find good Rhema and puts it in your heart. If you plan to do any books of prophets or Old Testament…. I would be so excited! 😀
Thank you!
