What is Bible faith? Bible faith is the God kind of faith. This faith believes the word of God and acts on what the word of God says. This kind of faith believes what it says will come to pass. Mark 11:23 says it clearly, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (KJV).
It is important for believers to know and understand what Bible Faith is because the Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (KJV).
In Hebrews 11:1 the Bible says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV). Based on this verse, faith is present tense and it gives substance to what you are hoping for.
The Amplified version of this verse reads, “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality-faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
What did Jesus say about faith?
In Mark 11:22-24 the Bible says, “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (KJV).
In this passage, Jesus is giving us information on how to change challenging circumstances in life using our faith. We are to believe that the things we say happen.
For example, when dealing with sickness, we have the right as believers to cast out the sickness and receive our healing based on the word of God. Matthew 8:17 says, “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” and 1 Peter 2:24 says “by whose stripes ye were healed”(KJV). It is our responsibility to use our faith in what the word of God said about healing.
This is how I would pray in this situation, [Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses in His body and by His stripes, I am healed]. Jesus told the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:34 that her faith made her whole.
She believed that if she could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. She initiated her healing by believing in her heart and saying with her mouth. Also, Hebrews 4:2 tells us that “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it” (KJV).
Bible faith will only work when we mix faith with what the Bible says regarding areas in our lives. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).
What is the spirit of faith?
The spirit of faith believes the word of God and confesses it until the desired result manifests. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says,”We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” (KJV).
Thus, the spirit of faith believes and speaks the word of God according to what the Bible promises. Knowing what the bible says about every area of our lives helps to exercise the spirit of faith so we can manifest the desired results.
