INTRODUCTION
The epistle to the Ephesians was written by Paul the apostle around A.D. 62 while he was a prisoner in Rome. The purpose of the letter was to tell the Ephesian Christians God’s eternal plan and purpose for the body of Christ. Paul want Christians to know that God had a plan even before the foundation of the world.
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:4-5) (NIV).
Also, one of the main points that he would like Christians to know is that we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. This faith is a gift from God.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9) (NIV).

PRAYER IN THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS TO PRAY FOR YOURSELF AND FOR OTHERS:
Ephesians 1:17-20 New Living Translation (NLT)
17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom[and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
PRAYER: Father, in the name of Jesus. I ask that you give me the spirit of wisdom and insight so that I might grow in the knowledge of God. Flood my heart with light so that I can understand the confident hope you have given to me. Help me to understand the greatness of your power. The same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 3:16-19 New Living Translation (NLT)
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
PRAYER: Father, in the name of Jesus. I ask that you empower me with inner strength through your Spirit. That Christ will dwell in my heart as I trust in him. Therefore I will be rooted and grounded in the love of God. Thank you for giving me the power to understand how wide, long, high, and deep your love is.
