Proverbs Chapter 31 Worksheet

Please Read Proverbs Chapter 31 and answer the following questions:

- What warning is this mother giving to her son? 31:3
- What dangerous practice should kings avoid and why? 31:4,5
- According to Proverbs 31:6,7, to whom should we give a strong drink to? Note: This does not suggest that we have to exercise this practice in our lives.
- How does Proverbs 31:8,9 suggest a ruler or king use his influence?
- How does Proverbs 31:10 describe the value of a virtuous woman? What is the lesson for men/husbands?
- How is the husband blessed by having a virtuous wife? 31:11,12; Give examples in which husbands and wives should trust one another.
- What kind of work does the virtuous woman do, and what is her attitude towards her work? 31:13, 19, & 22
- How is the virtuous woman like the merchant ships? 31:14
- When does the virtuous woman wake and what does she do for her household? 31:15
- What does Proverbs 31:16 says about her confidence in making a business decision? What did she do thereafter?
- What does Proverbs 31:17 say about her? What does this mean?
- How does Proverbs 31:18 portray the virtuous woman’s confidence in her skills?
- Who else benefits from the virtuous woman’s love and diligence? 31:20
- The virtuous woman does not live in fear, why is that? 31:22
- How do her commitment, skill, and faithfulness affect her husband’s life? 31:23
- According to Proverbs 31:24, what does she make and what does she do with what she makes?
- Proverbs 31:25 mentions two characteristics of the virtuous woman? What are they?
- What does Proverbs 31:26 say about her speech?
- What is her focus according to Proverbs 31:27?
- How does her family show their respect for her diligence and skillfulness? 31:28
- Read and copy below Proverbs 31:29.
- What kind of woman earns praise from her husband according to Proverbs 31:30
- Why is the virtuous woman getting praised in the city? 31:31
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him,” James 1:5, (NIV).
PRAYER FOR WISDOM: Father, I ask that you give me wisdom regarding (name the situation/be specific) to know what to say, what to do, and where to go. I thank you for giving me this wisdom generously without finding fault in me. I receive it by faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
DEFINITION
- Virtuous: Being in conformity to the moral or divine law; as a virtuous action; a virtuous life; Chaste; applied to women.
- Idle: Slothful; given to rest and ease; averse to labor or employment; lazy; not employed; unoccupied with business; inactive; doing nothing.
- Household: Those who dwell under the same roof and compose a family; those who belong to a family.
- Wisdom: (Amplified) “comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God.” (Proverbs 4:11)
- Merchant: A who traffics or carries on trade with foreign countries, or who exports and imports goods and sells them by wholesale. In popular usage, any trader, or one who deals in the purchase and sale of goods.

I really enjoyed this particular study.
Other bible studies ask questions that, at times, go way over my head. This brought it down to my level,not dumbing it down by any means. Just asking the simplest of questions that actually focus on the scripture.
Our ladies ministry is starting next week. We are going thru Colossians. And I will be using that one!
